This was a sighting that was rare in its entity but a gruesome reality of survival in the wild. Two kudu bulls locked their horns in battle over dominance. The relentless struggle to separate themselves became their demise as they ended up contorting themselves further which resulted in tightening the lock of the horns. After three days of standing in the sun, the smaller of the kudu's began to weaken and collapsed on a few occasions. By the morning of the fourth day it was evident that he had succumbed to hyenas. The remaining bull watched as his rival was devoured by the scavengers. On the morning of the fifth day, the remaining male had become the second carcass. Kudu's are majestic creatures and this sighting provided a grave insight to the strength of these creatures and the endurance they will go through to try and survive.
